Photo Day is taking place on Saturday, May 11 at ACC.  All dancers will be photographed individually, and with their group(s).  Selo families are reminded to check their email regarding photo session time slots, and ordering information.

Our hearts were filled with passion and pride this past weekend as we took to the stage at the PFE Dance Showcase in Saskatoon (April 11-14, 2019). The Selo dancers enthusiastically performed 13 dances at an amazing Ukrainian dance festival hosted by the Pavlychenko Folklorique Ensemble (PFE). All of the dancers, from the youngest, to the Ensemble group, truly danced with energy, emotion, eagerness and spirit. The Selo Ukrainian Dancers hosted a Pysanka Workshop for the dancers and their families. Instructors guided the participants in transforming a plain white egg into a colourful work of art! What a great way to learn more about our rich Ukrainian culture … and just in time for Easter!

The Selo Ukrainian Dancers hosted a fun-filled Zabava on Saturday, February 23. The event was fun for the whole family that included lively, toe-tapping, music provided by the band 'By Request'! There was also be a delicious hot lunch served, and some fabulous prizes won. The Selo Ukrainian Dancers performed a couple dances and debuted a brand new Hopak! The Selo Ukrainian Dancers, in collaboration with Anola Community Club, hosted their third annual Ukrainian Dinner Theatre on Sunday, November 18.  The event was sold out weeks in advance with guests anticipating a delicious meal, lively entertainment and fabulous prizes ... and the evening did not disappoint!  With live Ukrainian music to greet the guests as they arrived, everyone settled in for a delicious meal catered by Olga Bezditny.  The Selo Ukrainian Dancers took to the dance floor performing various dances throughout the evening (Lemko, Volyn, Fishing Dance, Hutzul and Hopak).  Guests even had the opportunity to learn traditional Ukrainian village dances.  [...]

Selo Parents …. You’re invited to the Selo Ukrainian Dancers ‘observation class’ to be held on Tuesday, November 27. Come and see your young dancer’s growth and progress!

On Saturday, October 20 the Selo Ukrainian Dancers performed at PolishFest ...  a unique multicultural experience that showcased traditional Polish food and dance, as well as, various ethnic groups within Winnipeg and abroad.  The colourful repertoire Selo performed for this event was Lemko, Polissia, Volyn and two different Hopaks!  The event took place at the beautiful Club Regent Event Centre.  Polish Fest is an event that entertains, excites and showcases talent and culture.

Tickets for the 3rd Annual Ukrainian Dinner Theatre hosted by the Selo Ukrainian Dancers and Anola Community Club are now sold out (over a month before the event)!!  Thank you to everyone for the great response.  It will be an evening you won't forget! The event includes delicious Ukrainian cuisine, spectacular entertainment and fabulous prizes.  For the past two years this event has sold out quickly, and so it has again.  The ongoing wonderful support is appreciated!

We’ve just returned from a spectacular trip to Ukraine!  Thank you to all of our families and friends for your thoughts, prayers and support.  It was the trip of a lifetime with many life long memories created!! Our first destination was Lviv and it was jam packed with exciting events.  While in Lviv, we participated in an International Ukrainian Dance Festival.
